Day 4 Leg 1 The southern shoreline of Lake Superior is much different than the northern shoreline. As you leave the town of Superior, you can take the long way, or the short way to Ashland. Keep on Route 2 if you like, otherwise head east on Route 13 for the scenic route.

| On Route 13 you will find some mild twisties here and there and a number of small towns that will remind you of how America used to be. There are plenty of places to pull over and walk down to the water. Around the Red Cliff area, you'll see the beautiful shoreline and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. There are some state parks in the area as well if you are so inclined. |
