Introduction: ATL 2003

Welcome.  We're glad you're here.

Once again, over Memorial Day weekend 2003, the ATL riders will embark on their annual five day journey around lakes Michigan and Superior, which is destined to be yet another exciting and new experience.

If you've been here before, you know the general idea.  We want to get a great number of motorcyclists together to share in a common experience, while making sure we don't kill that which makes motorcycling great.  Freedom.   Freedom from schedules, freedom from routes, freedom to enjoy the miles with an old buddy, a new friend, or in the peaceful solitude that you and your motorcycle always seem to discover.

Many of us have taken this trip a number of times, and all will agree that despite the fact that there is one basic route for the trip, it never does get boring or routine.  There's always that one lookout that you never stopped at or that place just out of the way that you've always wanted to visit.  There's also old friends to be seen and new friends to make.  Each and every year, the ATL trip has something new to offer.

We welcome all newcomers to the trip, and don't let these web pages fool you.  We are not nearly as organized as these pages might make it seem.  We organize this trip the way we organize our other trips.  That is, with as little planning as possible.  Yes, we will have hotel reservations, and a general "go this way" route...but that's about it.  Everyone is encouraged to ride their own ride, however that may be for each individual.  Regardless of how you choose to spend your day, your friends will be waiting for you at the hotel, waiting to exchange stories.

Sights like this one are not uncommon, and if you think the picture looks nice, you really should see it in person:

So, To our returning friends, welcome back.  To our newcomers, welcome to the group.  To all, let's go enjoy ourselves in a way only possible on this trip.  We can't wait to see you all out there.
