| Introduction: | ATL 2005 |
After an almost unanimous vote in January, we are happy to announce a change for ATL2005. That's right - this year, it's a Figure-8.
As you all know, this will require an extra vacation day from work, but it will all be worthwhile for an extra day of exploring, riding, and camaraderie with old friends. We will leave on Wednesday morning, May 25th, and return home on Monday evening (Memorial Day), May 30th.
Since this version of the ride is new to everyone involved, please take a few minutes to look at the Figure-8 trip layout, remembering that this is just a guide, not a route. As always, people are encouraged and required to ride their own ride. Lots of things will be different this year, from routes, to restaurants, to hotels...but that's all part of the experience.
Again, we welcome all newcomers to the trip with the understanding that anyone who consciously chooses to take a 6 day 2400 mile trip is the type of person who belongs on ATL. Please read these pages for more information, and don't hesitate to sign up to the aroundthelakes@yahoogroups.com mailing list and ask a few questions.
Here's to the open road and all the wonderful things that accompany it. And again, welcome to ATL2005.
