Introduction: ATL 2006

It's that time of year again...time for warm weather (if you can call the north side of Lake Superior in May warm), a few much needed days off from work, the open road, and the camaraderie that is such an integral part of the Around the Lakes group. I'm glad you're here, and I welcome all of you.

After a hugely successful change last year to a Figure-8 trip, we put the route choice for ATL2006 to a vote. By a single vote, we are doing a Standard ATL in 2006. This means that we're leaving on Thursday morning, May 25th, and the trip will be five days, returning us home on Memorial Day, May 29th, 2006.

The ATL trip continues to grow and now includes people that are at least five friends removed from the trip originators, Otter and me. This means that friends of friends of friends of friends of friends (and so on) now make the decision to saddle up and join in the excitement and. I know I speak for everyone when I say that we are looking forward to meeting and sharing this experience with the new friends that will join us this year. We welcome you to what will hopefully be another safe, fun, and memorable trip.

If anyone should have any questions about the trip, please post them to the aroundthelakes@yahoogroups.com mailing list, or feel free to email me directly.

Thanks, and welcome to ATL2006.
