Introduction:
Question: Where the hell have the last ten years
gone? It seems like just yesterday that Otter and I set out on what seemed
at the time to be a trip of epic proportions...and it was. ATL set in
motion a series of events that escape words able to accurately
describe them, and that are beyond monetary value. In each our own way, it
has taken us down a path to where we are now, and that includes both
the people we've met and the places we've discovered.

However, ATL transcends Otter and me.
2007 is the ten year anniversary of ATL. Back in 1997, there
were actually two ATL trips, one in
June and one over Labor Day
weekend. Otter and I were the only two on the June trip, but we were
joined by Mongo and Kurt for the second go-around. From there, ATL has
grown into it's own living, breathing entity and it transcends Otter and
me. The people that are now "regulars" on the trip, and even those that we
see only every few years, are in fact the essence of ATL. Otter and
I may have started this, and while we're glad to assume that blame, it's
everyone's fault that ATL has become the unbelievably successful, enjoyable, and
everlasting entity that it is. For that, I thank you.
I will
outline on the "What's New" page some of the differences in this year's trip,
but the bottom line is that it's the 5-day "standard" version of the trip.
Next year being 2008 seemed a better time to do a Figure-8 ATL.
I look
forward to seeing a lot of old friends, as well as welcoming some new ATLers to
the trip this year.
Thanks, and welcome to ATL2007.
