| After a great breakfast, take a few
minutes to enjoy the town of Grand Marais and the harbor. Heading along Route 61,
there are plenty of places to stop and a couple of excellent scenic overlooks. Grand Portage
National Monument is also good stopping place. A few miles later, we'll cross the border into Canada and continue on Route 11 through Thunder Bay and continuing up to Nipigon. The Terry Fox Courage overlook offers a great view and a lot of inspiration, plus a couple of twisties on the way up to the parking lot. Further up the road, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park will take you a bit off the beaten path and offers some excellent photographic opportunities. Watch out for the giant...no just kidding, this is him. |
