Day 4 Leg 3

Continuing on towards Houghton, the Upper Peninsula is completely covered in tall thick deciduous forests, and the smell of the forest in this area is always clean and sweet. If you've had enough, we're staying in Hancock tonight at the Ramada underneath the bridge. If you want to do a little exploring, continue north through Houghton and take Route 41 north into the peninsula.  Just about 2 miles from the hotel is a great overlook of Houghton and the bridge, and the Houghton bridge, seen here at night from the dock behind our hotel, is a sight to behold.

Neither Jeff nor I have gone exploring in the area around Copper Harbor, but with any luck, we'll find the time to see this area.  There are supposed to be a great many lighthouses and parks on the peninsula, and if you feel like exploring, you are welcome to join us this day. Otherwise, we'll see you at the hotel, which has a sportsbar, and anyone who has not yet paid up on their "one-beer for each" cost of the trip will be encouraged to do so tonight.
